Old Fashioned Lemonade

Old Fashioned Lemonade

1 cup lemon juice (4-6 lemons)
1 cup sugar
5 cups water

Make simple syrup by dissolving the sugar into 1 cup of water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Combine the lemon juice and the simple syrup in a two-quart pitcher. Add 4 cups of cold water. Refrigerate.

Thank you. Will try today. Have been looking for the old time recipe. I’ve tried several and hadn’t hit it yet. This is simple and looks right. Love a good sip of lemonade on a hot day. Should be around 84 today in TN. Work in garden, sip some lemonade. sounds devine.

If you notice a hole in the upper left-hand corner of your Farmers' Almanac, don't return it to the store! That hole isn't a defect; it's a part of history. Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper).
