Crab Pate

Ingredients

1 (10oz) can can undiluted cream of mushroom soup

1 (6-1/2oz) can crab meat, drained & flaked

1 env. of unflavored gelatin

1 small onion, grated

3 tablespoons cold water

1 cup finely chopped celery

3/4 cup mayonnaise

Parsley sprigs

1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese, softened

 

Directions

Heat soup in a medium saucepan over low heat; remove from heat. Dissolve gelatin in cold water; add to soup, stirring well. Add next 5 ingredients and mix well. Spoon into on oiled 4 cup mold. Chill until firm. Unmold and garnish with parsley. Serve with assorted crackers.

If you notice a hole in the upper left-hand corner of your Farmers' Almanac, don't return it to the store! That hole isn't a defect; it's a part of history. Starting with the first edition of the Farmers' Almanac in 1818, readers used to nail holes into the corners to hang it up in their homes, barns, and outhouses (to provide both reading material and toilet paper). In 1910, the Almanac's publishers began pre-drilling holes in the corners to make it even easier for readers to keep all of that invaluable information (and paper) handy.
