Smoothies and other blender beverages provide delicious nutrients to supercharge the mind and body in the morning. Downing an energy drink after an exhausting workout will help to replenish minerals and rejuvenate. There’s nothing like ending a stressful day with a luscious smoothie. Blender beverages pack nutritious ingredients in quantities that your family might not otherwise consume daily. Sip through each season’s sensational flavors and achieve a healthier, more vibrant you!

Blender Beverage Basics
Great tasting beverages start with quality ingredients. Fresh or frozen produce works equally well when making delicious drinks.

It’s not necessary to peel apples, pears, peaches, plums or to skin tomatoes beforehand. However, you may consider removing them if the produce isn’t organic, to avoid ingesting pesticides.
Remove seeds and stems from produce before adding to the blender to reduce wear on the blades and to avoid adding a bitter taste to your drink concoction.

Never start a blender until the ingredients have been added and the lid is firmly in place.

Always start a blender on the lowest setting and increase speed slowly, especially when ice cubes or frozen ingredients are included.

Transform any beverage into a smoothie by adding ice cubes and substituting frozen fruit for fresh. To convert a smoothie recipe to a liquid beverage, use fresh produce or juice instead of frozen and omit ice or yogurt from the recipe.
Never leave a blender when it is in operation, for any reason.

Here are a few blender recipes perfect for winter:

Maple Pecan Coffee
Ingredients:
6 pecan halves or 2 tablespoons pecan meal
1 cup hot coffee, freshly brewed
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Directions:
Add pecan halves or pecan meal to a high-powered blender, and blend on high until pecans are ground fine. Add hot coffee and maple syrup and blend until smooth.

For Ozzyburg:Cook apples with ginger root,cinnamon and nutmeg…a little sugar in water.The water should only reach up to half of the apples. Cover. Boil and immediately lower heat to low. Let cook until the apples are soft. Cool or put in fridge.. Put in blender warm or cold. Handful of sunflower seeds in blender. Blend to a flour substance. Add one glass of milk and one banana. Blend. This one gives you energy for the day. No salt in these two drinks !

I am on a gluten, dairy, egg, apple, orange, banana, soy free diet!
Any ideas for a blender drink meeting these limitations?

Made a beet and blueberry smoothie the other day…yummy! 1 small steamed beet, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 Cup vanilla yogurt, splash of milk, crushed ice. Really picks you up after work. :)

Larry, use Agave Nectar in place of the sugar. I use about half what it calls for in a recipe. Great stuff! You can purchase it most anywhere. Look where either sugar is sold or maple syrup.
